Champions for Health

The goal of Champions for Health is to train and inspire attendees to achieve practice excellence and become more effective spokespersons, community health advocates, and community leaders.

The Champions for Health Summit took place on Friday, November 4th in Sacramento, CA. Attendees participated in skill building sessions on health advocacy, media training, social media, practice excellence, building partnerships and reducing health disparities.

Trained Champions for Health will be better equipped to:
  • Deliver high quality care regardless of patient race, ethnicity or language proficiency
  • Ensure that accurate health information about key issues are heard, understood and conveyed in the community through effective media communication.
  • Use powerful technology, such as social media, to amplify message and promote community-wide collaboration
  • Build healthy communities by partnering with patients and community organizations to create healthcare change
  • Close gaps in care by building effective relationships with patients, the healthcare team, and the community
