Michael Steenburgh took the helm of San Joaquin Medical Society in 2007 and has restructured the society into one of the fastest growing societies in California. He oversees the strategic planning of the society, provides direct leadership for many of their community programs, and also serves as the Executive Director of several subsidiary corporations of the medical society, including the Bureau of Economic Services, the San Joaquin Scholarship Loan Fund and their own political action fund, the League for Good Government.

Mike is a native of the central valley, having lived and attended school here for the past 48 years. His wife Jean is a Respiratory Therapist and they have been married for 22 years. They have one son Joshua, who attends college in Oklahoma in pursuit of a Kinesiology degree while competing in rowing at the collegiate and national level in his pursuit of rowing for the US national team.
