Lisa Folberg is Vice President of Medical and
Regulatory Policy at the California Medical Association
(CMA), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting
public health and promoting the science and art of medicine.
Ms. Folberg heads CMA's policy department where she
manages the day-to-day operations of CMA's policy development
and regulatory advocacy. She also takes the lead on
the issues of health system reform and financing.
She previously served as an Associate Director of
Government Relations. She joined CMA from the California
Legislative Analyst's Office, where she provided the
Legislature with analyses on a variety of health
and social services budget issues. Prior to that, she
worked for the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Folberg has also spent time volunteering and working
in health clinics, and spent a year in Colombia, South
America developing a public health program for
at-risk youth through a World Health Organization/UCSF
collaborating project. She holds a master's degree in
public policy from Georgetown University.
