Bradley Curtis Johnson

Brad C. Johnson is a first year medical student at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. A California native, Mr. Johnson grew up on the Monterey Peninsula and later attended the University of Southern California where he received a BS in Biology and a BA in Political Science.

Mr. Johnson has a fervent interest in health policy, particularly in improving community medicine and reducing health disparities. He is currently active in the Healthy Choices, Healthy Lives program at the Keck School of Medicine where he teaches nutrition and sexual education to middle school children in underserved Los Angeles communities.

During his undergraduate education, Mr. Johnson worked as a legislative analyst at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and was active both in student government and the community. He was awarded the “2006 Dean’s Prize for Improvement of Student Academic Life” for his work improving USC’s biology curriculum. He also created an academic incentive program for inner city middle school children. In addition, he spent 6 months at the Wrigley Marine Science Center on Santa Catalina Island conducting a self-designed research project in microbial genetics that was awarded 1st Prize at the 2007 USC Symposium for Scholarly and Creative Work.
