World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day

July 28 is World Hepatitis Day.  It is a day of awareness, prevention, and remembrance.  Hundreds of millions of individuals worldwide are currently living with a form of hepatitis and over a million individuals die each year from the disease.  Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer if untreated, but it can be treated through early detection. This disease has become an epidemic worldwide and we must act to end it.  By placing a greater emphasis on awareness, preventative measures, screenings, and treatments, we can put a stop to this epidemic.

All health care professionals are invited to join the Hepatics C Clinician Honor Roll. Honor Roll members pledge to screen patients following USPSTF guidelines and work to improve the care of persons with Hepatitis C Join by clicking here.
