18 May Quality Payment Program May 18, 2016By CMA Foundation NEPO CMS, Medicare Part B, MIPS, NEPO, Quality Payment Program, MACRA 0 Delivery System Reform, Medicare Payment Reform, & MACRA On April 27th CMS issued its first proposed regulation on MACRA, detailing elements of the Quality Payment Program (MIPS/APMs) that will change reimbursement under Medicare Part B. If you haven’t seen the announcement, details can be found at the CMS website at http://go.cms.gov/QualityPaymentProgram. On that site is a list of details, including a fact sheet on the elements of the new program. CMS is also working to develop information focused on particular modes of practice, to help clinicians understand what to expect, and to take advantage of support and technical assistance to prepare for the upcoming changes. CMA recently released the first of these fact sheets: “MACRA Small Practices Fact Sheet: The Quality Payment Program: Flexibilities and Support for Small Practices and Practices in Rural Areas and Health Professional Shortage Areas”.
