SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 19TH ANNUAL PRESIDENT’S RECEPTION AND AWARDS GALA

The California Medical Association (CMA) and the CMA Foundation invite you to the 19th Annual President’s Reception and Awards Gala, October 17, at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim. The black tie event will immediately follow CMA’s annual House of Delegates session that day. Entertainment for this year's Gala includes The Power Mix, a 15-piece band featuring a team of male and female vocalists covering the best-loved songs and dance hits from yesterday and today. World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day July 28 is World Hepatitis Day.  It is a day of awareness, prevention, and remembrance.  Hundreds of millions of individuals worldwide are currently living with a form of hepatitis and over a million individuals die each year from the disease.  Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer if untreated, but it can be treated through early detection. CMA Foundation and NEPO provide Hepatitis C screenings at Crenshaw HealthFest The California Medical Association (CMA) Foundation and its Network of Ethnic Physician Organizations (NEPO) were proud to partner with Assemblyman Sebastian Ridley Thomas this past weekend as co-sponsors of the first annual Crenshaw HealthFest in Los Angeles. The HealthFest took place on Saturday, July 11 at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. Featuring over 25 community organizations, the HealthFest provided health education and free health services to hundreds of attendees from the Los Angeles area. We've Moved!

We Have Moved!   The California Medical Association (CMA) Foundation is excited to announce that, as of May 2015, we have changed office locations!  We have moved to a more convenient location in the heart of midtown Sacramento – 2230 L Street. We would like to thank and extend our gratitude to all the organizations and individuals who assisted us with this transition. Our new location allows us to remain in better contact with our partnering organizations and to build new relationships with the surrounding community.   The CMA Foundation is hosting an open house in July to celebrate the move.  For more ...

The California Medical Association announces new President & CEO!

Lisa Folberg takes the helm at CMA Foundation. Lisa Folberg first became interested in public health when she volunteered for the AIDS Hotline in San Francisco in the 1980s. Soon after this she spent a year in Colombia, South America, developing a public health program for at-risk youth through a World Health Organization/UCSF collaborating project. “This experience was life-changing,” says Folberg. It further galvanized her purpose in life, which was to help form meaningful public health policy that will benefit consumers.
