Adam Dougherty is an Emergency Medicine resident physician at UC Davis Medical Center. He currently sits on the Council on Science and Public Health of the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board (PHAB). Adam is a member of the SSV Medicine Editorial Committee and the ITUP Leadership Council, and is the Resident Trustee on the California Medical Association (CMA) Board of Trustees.
Before beginning his training at UC Davis, he was the Policy Director of Insure the Uninsured Project (ITUP), where he published multiple whitepapers and analyses on state and federal reform, founded the ITUP blog while he was stationed in Washington, DC, and became a vital resource for statewide health care networks during and after the health reform debates. Adam is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Medicine, and holds a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) with a concentration in Global Health Leadership from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California: Santa Barbara.
